Diocletian's Bathhouse: Wine & History Experience
The experience takes place inside the surviving remains of Diocletian's thermae β the Roman baths that served the 9,000 people who lived inside the palace in the 4th century. Roman baths were social hubs, cultural centres and architectural statements. The underfloor heating (hypocaust) and aqueduct-fed pools were engineering feats of their time. Your guide brings that world to life in the place it actually happened.
After the presentation, three premium Croatian wines are poured β KujundΕΎuΕ‘a (light white from Imotski), PoΕ‘ip (full-bodied white from KorΔula), and Plavac Mali (structured red from PeljeΕ‘ac) β each introduced with context about the region and the grape. Paired with a traditional Dalmatian finger food platter of prosciutto, cheese and olives. 45 minutes, max 15 people.
